Refurbishment of the listed façade of the site’s original Power Station whilst installing residential apartments within it required complex temporary works and Historic England Management Deed restraints.

Construction of the basement included the demolition and removal of 11,000m3 of reinforced concrete foundations and excavation of 106,862m3 spoil, the equivalent volume of 43 Olympic Swimming pools.

Once the enabling work was completed the piling (secant & bearing piles), groundworks, drainage and reinforced concrete substructure was undertaken to form the new basement levels.
