Formally the home of the Cripplegate Institute, this is a commercial development of a Grade II listed 1900 building with a substantial 1960’s extension.

Project Overview

The site is in close proximity to the Barbican Estate, as well as the Golden Lane Estate, making the City of London Corporation a significant stakeholder, including being the site’s local authority.

The 1960’s extension is having its façade replaced by our in-house façade specialists JRL Facades, who have designed, manufactured, and will install the replacements. This development retains 95% of the existing building structure and prioritises circular economy through the retention and reuse of existing materials, adopting an innovative approach to the repurposing of steelwork recycled from the original building.

The works include the addition of four stories, and an overall increase in floor space by around 19.8% and net of lettable floor space by 11.6%. The development is targeting achieving BREEAM Outstanding.
